It is now mandatory for travellers from countries which participate in the

Visa Waiver Program, which includes the UK.


Applications must be submitted before you travel and the US Department of Homeland Security recommends doing so at least 72 hours before travel.

Travellers must visit https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov and enter information such as date of birth, country of citizenship, contact details in the United States before their departure.
